Prasad Srinivasan, M.D. is a board certified allergist, has been in the Hartford area since 1980. After completing his medical school from Baroda India, he did his residency training in New York and Fellowship in Chicago. Dr. Srinivasan holds hospital privileges at Hartford Hospital, Connecticut Children’s medical Center and St. Francis Hospital and medical Center.
Dr. Srinivasan is a member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and a member of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, the New England Society of Allergy, the Hartford County Medical Association and the Connecticut State Medical Society. Dr. Srinivasan serves on the Board of several organizations. The Health Advisory Committee of the Public Health Foundation of Connecticut, the Hartford County Medical Association; American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, the Connecticut Council for Interreligious Understanding, and the Hindu Temple in Middletown have greatly benefited from Dr. Srinivasan’s leadership and commitment.
Dr. Srinivasan has been recognized for his numerous community contributions by the State of Connecticut, the City of Hartford, Senators in Washington, DC and by several NRI societies. Governor M. Jodi Rell has issued official statements “conveying honor and recognition for his outstanding service and commitment to Excellency”. The City of Hartford has recognized Dr. Srinivasan for his “unparalleled catalytic efforts, vision and creativity in coordinating health, education and cultural community service projects.” Dr. Srinivasan served as a State Representative for the Town of Glastonbury, 31st District. As a State Representative, Dr. Srinivasan served on the Public Health Committee, Environment Committee, and the Judiciary Committee. He has been featured on numerous occasions in local newspapers and magazines. CT Indian Life profiled Dr. Srinivasan in a cover story titled “Changing the World One Grant at a Time”. Earlier in the year he was on the cover of India Today (Tamil Edition), and in August he was featured in Thendral, a monthly magazine in North America and on the front page of the Hartford Courant “Answering Opportunities Knock”. Connecticut Magazine has chosen him as a “Top Doctor” for several years.
